Obituary

Steven B. “Gobble” Aurand, 69, of Ferguson Valley, passed away after bravely fighting an 8 month long lung disease on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 8, 1949 in Lewistown, he was the son of Boyd and Lorraine (Barger) Aurand.
Steven will be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Susan (Rogers) Aurand, children, Ty S. Aurand of State College, Kimberly J. and Jason Williams, of Lewistown, step-son Michael A. Fink, of Lewistown, siblings, Dan Aurand of Ferguson Valley, Rick and wife Cindy Aurand of Huntingdon, and Scott and wife Cindy Aurand, and Grandchildren, Aiden Aurand, and Quinlan and Chantz Williams.
Steven was employed as a machine press operator at Sperry New Holland, retiring in 2003 after 30 years of service. After retirement, He branched out into his new Business “Steve Aurand’s Hoof Trimming”, from 2006-2013. Most of all, Steve will always be remembered for his great love of horses and competing in Rodeos.
He was a Methodist by faith and also a lifetime member of The Lewistown Moose Lodge No. 143, and a graduate of Lewistown Highschool class of 1967. After graduation, he attended Williamsport College, majoring in Architectural Studies.
A memorial service in loving memory of Steven will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 6, 2019 at The Barr Funeral Home, Inc. and Crematory 120 Logan Street, with Rev. John Walters officiating. There will be a visitation held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steven’s memory are respectfully encouraged to, Moose Family Center No. 143, 80 Brady Ln, Lewistown Pa 17044.
