Gary L. Sausser, 75, of Reedsville, passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Sunday March 31, 2019 at his home.
Born August 19, 1943 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William J. and Betty (Beaver) Sausser. In addition to his biological parents, he was preceded in death by foster parents, Thomas and Fern Wagner, and numerous foster siblings.
Gary will be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Mary (Combs) Sausser, step-children, Anna May Goodman and husband Terry, and Helen Casner and husband Steve, siblings, William J. Sausser and wife Louise, half-sister, Connie Junkins and husband Tom, Ronald Wagner and fiancé Brenda Crosson, Bobby Fisher and wife Peggy, Shirley McConnell, and numerous foster siblings, 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, and nieces Brenda Sausser and Tracy Weader.
Gary was enlisted in the U. S. Army. After his discharge from the military, He was employed at Aumiller’s Auto Wreckers, Inc. in Milroy as a mechanic for over 40 years. He was a member of The Mifflintown American Legion Post 298, and The New Lancaster Valley Fire Company. In his free time, he loved his cats, building model cars, attending local fairs and carnivals, and being a good Samaritan, working on cars for free.
A funeral service in loving memory of Gary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday April 4, 2019 at The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Pastor John Moyer officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in New Lancaster Valley Cemetery.
