Edith M. Yocum (Kling), 90, of Staunton, VA, formerly of Reedsville, PA, was surrounded by family as she went home to be with the Lord at 10:54 p.m. on Thursday November 14, 2019.
Born May 15, 1929, in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of the late George E. Kling and Ida Pauline Kling (Earnest) and Stepfather Author Harold Kling. Her husband, Harry S. Yocum, Sr, whom she married on June 30, 1946, preceded her in death on June 15, 2010.
Surviving are children, Harry S. Yocum, Jr, of Burnham, PA, daughter-in-law Rilla K Yocum of Lewistown, PA, Linda M. Yocum of Staunton, VA, Paul E. Yocum and wife Myra of Yeagertown, PA; grandchildren, Nanette (Yocum) Barnes and husband Brian of Lewistown, PA, George Yocum and wife Anne of Staunton, VA, Steve Yocum and wife Theresa of Yeagertown, PA, Paula (Yocum) Liddick and husband Paul of Yeagertown, PA, Harry (Bill) Yocum and wife Amy of Lewistown, PA, and Paul Yocum, Jr, of Yeagertown, PA.
Also surviving are 14 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren, sister Mildred Fortney of Mechanicsburg, PA, foster brothers Lloyd Earnest of Lewisberry, PA, Barry Reichenbach of Thompsontown, PA, and Charles Barlette of Lewistown, PA.
She was preceded in death by her son George E. Yocum, siblings Hazel Kling, Joseph Kling, George Kling, Jacob Kling, step siblings Myrtel Hopkins, Arthur Kling, Jr, Mary Bleacher, and Josephine Setzler.
She worked at Fisher Electronics (Sanyo), retiring after 39 years of service. She attended Providence Baptist Church of Harrisonburg, VA, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service in loving memory of Edith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 18, 2019 at Milroy Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 46 Elm Street, Milroy PA 17063, with Pastor Andy Rice officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will take place in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
