Obituary for Charles Thomas "Tom" Rodkey

Charles Thomas “Tom” Rodkey, 74, of Lewistown, passed Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at his residence.
Born April 9, 1944, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Audice “Ott” and Esther V. (Logan) Rodkey.
Charles will be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Connie (Walker) Rodkey whom he married in 1964, children, Ann Rident and husband, Donald, of McClure, Stacey Applebee and Charles Thomas Rodkey Jr. and wife, Kelly, of McVeytown, brothers, Audice “Abe” Rodkey and wife Karen of Lancaster, James Rodkey of York and Alan L. Rodkey of Reedsville, grandchildren, Fiona Berry, Ashley Heimbaugh, Andrea and Nathan Applebee and Derik and Justin Rodkey, great-grandchildren, Alex Steffen, Zorrah and Hunter Massey, Owen and Lola Heimbaugh.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War.
He retired from PPL Gas Company after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Lewistown and the Brooklyn Hose Company.
Tom played in many local rock bands, including Pure Image as a drummer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to camp and he especially loved and enjoyed his dog, Sophi.
Services will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
